Coaching is a partnership between the client and coach that helps you, the client ,establish and achieve tangible goals in an area of your life. It is about moving forward in life from making a decision to shifting your perspective on some issue.
The core assumption of coaching is that every person is inherently resourceful and creative, honoring you as the expert of your life. Through the coaching process, you can deepen your learning, improve your performance, and enhance your quality of life.
You will receive as much as you put into it. In coaching, clients who are fully present can achieve greater self-awareness. As your coach, I will empower you on the journey of self-discovery and mindset shifts to help you create new opportunities and gain the courage to seek and pursue a new future vision.
People from a variety of roles and industries, in every stage of life, can benefit from coaching. In fact, many are often successful and competent, yet willing to stretch themselves beyond their limits and boundaries to pursue a desired change in their life. Coaching topics are determined by the client and may include career and life transitions, relational conflicts, and personal goals.
You can request a 30-minute consultation as an opportunity to get to know one another and assess whether we would make good partners as client and coach. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the coaching process. The consultation session can help you decide if coaching is right for you without any commitment.
Coaching is NOT a replacement for therapy or counseling. It is not consulting or mentoring. It is not ‘advice-lending’ or ‘hand-holding’ accountability, or a ‘friend for hire’. Coaching can run concurrently with therapy or counseling, but it is not a substitute for mental health, legal, or other professional treatment or service
Coaching assumes the client is mentally and emotionally healthy. Coaching questions are meant to promote discovery and the focus is on the present and future. The result is an action plan to achieve the goal.
Counseling’s starting point is mental and emotional issues or trauma. Counseling questions are meant to meant to diagnose and the focus is on the past and present. The result is understanding and acceptance.
As a coach, I honor the client as competent and capable in their life and work. I believe that the client is creative, resourceful, and whole. With this belief, I will ask open-ended questions that assist the client in discovery, clarity, and that align with what they want to achieve. Client-centric coaching draws solutions and strategies from the client, which result in better outcomes.
The client is the expert, chooses the goal, sets the agenda and topic for what they would like to accomplish. The client will design and execute the actions with the support of the coach.
The coaching relationship starts with an intake session where we get to know each other, discuss your coaching goals, and tend to some housekeeping. Sessions are usually one hour in length via audio or video call. Every session begins with your agenda that guides our discussion. The goal for every session is to leave with new awareness, learning and ideas, and clear action steps towards your goal.
